Huskies Roll Into Motown
December 21, 2004
The University of Connecticut football team sat
through a 45-minute delay in Hartford while waiting for the team's
airplane to Detroit to arrive at Bradley International Airport, but it
was soon smooth sailing to the site of the Motor City Bowl. The
Huskies checked into their headquarters at the Hyatt Regency in
Dearborn, which greeted the team by putting the UConn name in the
biggest lights it knew how. The Huskies will have their first practice
in Detroit on Wednesday at Ford Field.

Waiting at Bradley International Airport to leave
for Detroit, members of the UConn team capture the moment. In the left

Cutaia. To the right is Deon McPhee, Dan Orlovsky, Alfred Fincher and
Rob Lunn.

Typically, the coaching staff rides first class
on the team's charters; however, for the Motor City Bowl trip, the
team's seniors were rewarded with the extra luxury. At the left, Tim Lassen
enjoys the comfort. With the trip coming over the Christmas holiday,
the coaches and most athletic administrators have their families with them.
At right, head coach Randy Edsall is shown with his son, Corey.

Jason Ward, Matt Bonislawski and Justin Perkins gather in front of the Hyatt Regency
Dearborn, which was illuminated especially to welcome the team.
