Huskies Top No. 9 Boston College 2-0 In Exhibition Opener
NEWTON, Mass. (August 18, 2007) – Seniors Karyn Riviere
(Guilford, Conn.) and Meghan Schnur (Butler, Pa.) each scored goals
to led the University of Connecticut women’s soccer team to a 2-0
exhibition win over Boston College on Saturday night.
Boston College was ranked ninth in the country in the National Soccer Coaches
Association of America while the Huskies were 16th.
Riviere score her goal in the first half as sophomore
Lauren Ebert (Hillsborough, N.J.) headed the ball to the goal and Riviere kicked
in the deflection.
Schnur had her tally in the second half with an assist
going to freshman Erin Clark (Somers, Conn.)
Junior Stephanie Labbe (Stony Plain, Alberta) started the
game for the Huskies in goal and sophomore Amanda Schwartz (Lanoka Harbor, N.J.)
came in and played the final 15 minutes.
UConn played all 22 players that dressed for the game
during the contest.
The Huskies return to action on Thursday when they travel
to Maryland for a 7:00 p.m. exhibition game. |
