Women's Rowing Concludes Fall Season In Syracuse

Rowing Competes At The Head of Schuykill Regatta
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (October 29, 2005) - The University of Connecticut women's rowing team competed at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta in Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon. The Varsity 8, composed of Katie Beasley (Centerville, Mass.), Alison Elmo (Highland Hills, N.Y.), Stephanie Chivers (Dalton, Mass.), Brooke Grauer (Fairfield, Conn.), Caitlin Meisinger (Bristol, Conn.), Kali Garges (Queche, Vt.), Nicole Rapp (Mansfield, Conn.), Erin Bartie (Westport, Conn. and Valerie Voorhees (Liverpool, N.Y.) and Second Varsity 8, composed of Gabbey LaChance (Mystic, Conn.), Erin Andersen (Barrington, R.I.), Christina Cotter (West Seneca, N.Y.), Katie Devonshuk (Beacon Halls, Conn.), Kellly McGary (Lewisville, N.C.), Whitney Peterson (Salem, Mass.), Heather Cannon (Wallingford, Conn.), Monica Parker (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Kerri Mocko (Stafford Springs, Conn.) raced in the Championship Eight event and finished 9th and 18th, respectively, out of 22 rowers. The U.S. Naval Academy won the event in a time of 13:48.94. The UConn varsity raced the course in 14:06, only 18 seconds out of first place. The UConn second varsity finished with a time of 14:37.82.

Women's Rowing Competes At Head Of Charles Regatta
BOSTON, Mass. (October 23, 2005) - The University of Connecticut women's rowing team competed at the 41st annual Head of Charles Regatta on Sunday afternoon, The Huskies took 40th place in the Women's Championship Eight event with a time of 19:00.450. Coming in first in the event was the US Rowing Princeton Training Center with a time of 16:34.633.

Huskies Compete in Head of the Riverfront Regatta
HARTFORD, Conn. (October 2, 2005) - The women's rowing team competed in four events on Sunday afternoon at the Head of the Riverfront Regatta. The team placed in the Varsity 8, Novice 4, Women's 2nd College 8, and the Women's College 4.

UConn Rowing Opens Fall Season At Coastweeks Regatta
MYSTIC, Conn. (September 18, 2005) - UConn women's rowing opened its 2005 fall season at the Coastweeks Regatta in Mystic, Conn. on Sunday morning. The Huskies competed in the Open-Four event, taking second and third place, as well as the Open-Double in which they took third and fourth place.
