Armstrong Named Men's Hoops BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year
NEW YORK (March 7, 2006) - Hilton Armstrong (Peekskill, N.Y.) of the University of Connecticut men’s basketball team was named the 2005-06 BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year, announced Tuesday evening at the conference awards banquet. This marks the fourth consecutive year that UConn has received the honor, with Armstrong being the fourth overall recipient of the award.

(March 4, 2006) - Senior Denham Brown (Toronto, Ont.), one of seven Huskies playing their final home game at Connecticut, scored 17 points and made the crucial steal in the game’s final minute to help second-ranked Connecticut hold off Louisville, 84-80, before a sellout crowd of 10,167 at the Harry A. Gampel Pavilion Saturday afternoon. The win gives the Huskies at least a share for the 2005-2006 BIG EAST Conference title.

Brown, Boone Lead Second-Ranked Men's Basketball Over USF, 66-53
TAMPA, Fla. (March 1, 2006) - The University of Connecticut men’s basketball team scored the first 18 points of the game and then held off a furious University of South Florida rally in the second half en route to a 66-53 win over the Bulls Wednesday in front of a crowd of 9,636 at the Sun Dome. With the win, UConn improves to 26-2 on the season, 13-2 in the BIG EAST. USF falls to 6-22, 0-15 in the league.

Gampel Pavilion.
