Armstrong Named Men's Hoops BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year

NEW YORK (March 7, 2006) - Hilton Armstrong (Peekskill, N.Y.) of the University of Connecticut men’s basketball team was named the 2005-06 BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year, announced Tuesday evening at the conference awards banquet. This marks the fourth consecutive year that UConn has received the honor, with Armstrong being the fourth overall recipient of the award.

(March 1, 2006) - The University of Connecticut men’s basketball team scored the first 18 points of the game and then held off a furious University of South Florida rally in the second half en route to a 66-53 win over the Bulls Wednesday in front of a crowd of 9,636 at the Sun Dome.
