Senior Festivities Conclude With 4-3 Victory For Men's Hockey

STORRS, Conn. (March 4, 2006) - Senior Chris Uber (Ithaca, N.Y.) commemorated his last home game as a UConn Husky with two points in the team’s 4-3 victory over Sacred Heart on Saturday night. Uber tallied a goal and an assist in the win that improves the Huskies’ record to 10-22-2 overall and 9-18-1 in Atlantic Hockey play while the Pioneers drop to 21-11-2 overall and 18-8-2 in the AHA.

Men's Hockey Falls, 8-3, To Sacred Heart

MILFORD, Conn. (March 3, 2006) - A hat trick by Sacred Heart’s Bear Trapp led the Pioneers to an 8-3 victory over the University of Connecticut men’s hockey team on Friday night. In the loss, two Huskies managed to record two-point games. Junior Scott McDougall (Mansfield, Mass.) nearly had a hat trick himself, notching two of the Huskies’ three goals. Freshman Ryan Hawkins (Eden Prairie, Minn.) tallied two assists in the game to bring his point total five on the season.

Men's Hockey Drops 4-1 Decision To Bentley

STORRS, Conn. (February 25, 2006) - The University of Connecticut dropped the second game of its final series with Bentley, 4-1, on Saturday night at the Freitas Ice Forum. Junior co-captain Matt Scherer (Seattle, Wash.) scored the lone goal of the night for the Huskies in the second period. With this loss, the Huskies fall to 9-21-2 overall and 8-17-1 in Atlantic Hockey play while the Falcons improve to 13-14-5 overall and 11-10-5 in AHA play.

Men's Hockey Falls To Bentley, 6-3

WALTHAM, Mass. (February 24, 2006) - The University of Connecticut men's hockey team fell, 6-3, to the Bentley Falcons on Friday night. Both junior Cole Koidahl (Minneapolis, Minn.) and freshman Chris Myhro (Eden Prairie, Minn.) registered two-point games, but were unable to maintain the team's three-game unbeaten streak. With the loss, the Huskies drop to 9-20-2 overall and 8-16-1 in Atlantic Hockey play while Bentley improves to 12-14-5 overall and 10-10-5 in the AHA.

Koidahl Named Atlantic Hockey Player Of The Week

WAKEFIELD, Mass. (February 20, 2006) - Junior Cole Koidahl (Minneapolis, Minn.) was named the Atlantic Hockey Association Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday morning. Also recognized by the league this week were sophomore goaltender Brad Smith (Detroit, Mich.) and freshman Sean Erickson (Eden Prairie, Minn.).
