Michael Louis enters his fifth season as an assistant coach
with the University of Connecticut men’s tennis team.
A native of New York, N.Y., Louis was a four-year
letterwinner for the Huskies from 2000-04. A former team captain, Louis compiled
an overall record of 35-32 in singles competition at UConn.
He remained with the team during the 2005 season as a
student-coach and become an assistant coach with the program the following year.
Prior to his arrival at Connecticut, Louis attended the
Humanities High School and was named the New York Public School Athletic League
Tennis Player of the Year his senior season was also the recipient of the Iron
Horse Award for tennis.
Louis received a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology
from Connecticut in 2005 and went on to earn his master’s degree in sport
management in 2007.
