Zwick
Assistant Coach
First Season
UMass '08
Melynda Zwick enters her first year as an assistant lacrosse coach at the
University of Connecticut after playing for four years at the University of
Massachusetts Amherst.
While at UMass, Zwick led her team to two Atlantic 10 Tournament appearances.
During her senior year, she captained her team to the final game of the A10
tournament. Over her career, she tallied 100 total points on 60 goals and 40
assists compiling 11 multi-goal games, 17 multi-point games and five hat tricks.
During her junior and senior years, she ranked second on the team in points as
well as the third-leading scorer.
Zwick spent her summers throughout her collegiate career working at a variety of
lacrosse camps. Last summer, she worked under Kelly Amonte at the Northwestern
lacrosse camps with Angela McMahon. She also served as a first assistant to the
camp director at the Nike Lacrosse Camp in Lawrenceville, N.J. where she planned
activities and set up a daily schedule for all of the campers. Zwick provided
guidance for participants aged eight to 17 for the last three years. In her home
state of Pennsylvania, she assisted at numerous high school camps as an
assistant camp director for the last six years. Zwick worked at the 180 Lacrosse
School in Amherst, Mass., over the last two summers.
Zwick recently graduated in 2008 from UMass with a bachelor of science degree in
natural science of geology, earth track.
